Don’t laugh, but I have always wanted a designated coffee station. Silly…maybe. Basic…extremely. But we have one, it’s functional, and I love it. Eventually we’d like to turn this nook into something more permanent with cabinets, a countertop, wine fridge, etc. It’ll be our booze and coffee corner. For now, it’s the most popular part of our house come 5am when we are up and at em…or 8am, or 10am, or whenever the feeling of caffeine withdrawal kicks in.
We get our coffee syrups and the pumps from Amazon (Vanilla, Caramel, Peppermint). The straws are from IKEA. We used to use those really cute paper straws (you can see a couple still in the mix) but we found those to be useless. Adorable, yes. Functional, not at all. The cake stand is from Bed, Bath, & Beyond. The espresso cups were a Christmas gift to the hubs I found at this awesome site that has the most random assortment of stuff. We were Keurig folks for a while but have since upgraded. Our coffee maker is the Nespresso Inissia machine with the Aeroccino milk frother. The cart itself is actually an old bar cart from Target we’ve had for years. We just MacGyvered the hell out of it to make it work for us.
Currently I’m really loving Vanilla Lattes…strong Vanilla Lattes. I use two espresso pods combined, Vanilio and Arpeggio with two pumps of the vanilla syrup. I pour a cup or so (little more, little less, just not too much or a mess will happen) of skim milk in the frother to get good and foamy. I’ve tried Coconut and Almond milk but sometimes the real stuff just works.
We found this drawer organizer at an end cap at staples. Still can’t get over how perfectly it fit into the drawer.
I catch myself craving a latte in the middle of the afternoon just because I have so much fun making them myself.
