The hubs and I went on a short little weekend getaway to Pimso Beach. We needed some time to reconnect with each other and disconnect from everything else. That includes my endless photography to get the “perfect blog photos.” Aside from the random phone pic, there wasn’t much photo documentation of our weekend. Just memories made, which is how it was supposed to be.
Last night I attempted one of those recipes you see on Facebook. You know which ones I’m talking about. It’s the quick video showing you the steps to a really easy, or decidedly more complicated dish in a matter of seconds. I saw this recipe for Skillet Beef Stroganoff and decided to give it a try. Having never actually eaten Beef Stroganoff before, I wasn’t sure what exactly it was supposed to taste like, but the hubs assured me it was spot on. I’ll take it.
I’m heading back east tomorrow. My cousin gets married Saturday and she asked if I could do her makeup for the big day. I’m stoked to help her out but thanks to Hurricane Matthew, life is off kilter in my hometown. I’m sure you’ve seen the devastation of Hurricane Matthew. Unfortunately, my family wasn’t spared, specifically my parents. Their house, the house I grew up in, was destroyed by flood waters. This isn’t the first time this has happened. Back in 1999 Hurricane Floyd dumped Noah’s Ark type flooding on my town and we were displaced from our house for a year while they gutted the entire thing and rebuilt. This time, my parents just don’t have the heart or energy to rebuild.
On a happier note…there’s a fall sale happening at the Gap right now. Select stuff for 50% off. I feel like this dress would be great with a pair of boots and a moto jacket. This plaid top (in either color) looks so soft. And for some reason, I keep finding myself going back to this pair of clogs. The 90s are back…so I guess the clogs are too.
Have a great week!
