While I’m very much a “carry all my crap around in one giant bag” kind of woman, I’m really starting to embrace the smaller cross-body bags after getting sucked into Marie Kondo’s Konmari method of getting rid of the crap that you don’t need. While I still love my giant bags and use them when a small bag just won’t cut it, I’m really digging the ease of a smaller cross-body bag.
My bag du jour is this pretty little number, a Rebecca Minkoff Mini MAC in the color Midnight. I love the silver details in the chain, shoulder strap, and hooks. And the color is perfect. It holds more than you would think it could, but as a whole, it isn’t very big…and that’s the whole point.
In downsizing my bag I knew I would have to downside the wallet. While I can fit a standard size wallet in this bag, it wouldn’t leave room for much else. I picked up the Kate Space Card Holder for use in my smaller bags or simply when I don’t want to carry a bag at all and can slide this in my pocket (read: the hubs pocket).
I’ve definitely paired down the beauty products I carry around. Soap & Glory’s Hand Food hand cream is the stuff of dreams. For my lips I still keep the YSL Rouge Volupte Shine in #9 Nude Private because you can’t beat that color. For something less fancy I have this adorable mini Vasaline pot. It’s so little.
Technology is paired down to almost nothing. Just my phone and the earbuds that came with it. I have the iPhone 6s in Rose Gold with a Kate Spade case I got from Marshalls.
I also carry sunnies of some sort without their case (which means they live on my head more than in the bag). A bobby pin might find its way in there from time to time. And there’s usually some change rattling around in the bottom, but that’s about it.
