When hubs and I made the move from the East Coast to the West Coast, we knew where we were going to live, but we weren’t quite sure where home would be. Almost two years ago we relocated from Calabasas to Downtown Long Beach to be close to his office. It was quite possibly the best move we’ve ever made. Downtown Long Beach offers both city life and coastal living. We got so used to living in a city when we were in DC; walking to shops, restaurants and bars in the neighborhood, and living in an environment that’s constantly evolving. But one thing about DC, it was way too far from the beach. Here in DTLB we have the city life with the beach literally in our backyard.
All too often I forget to just stand still and appreciate what we have, where we live, and how far we’ve come. Yesterday I decided to do just that. I grabbed my camera and took a long walk around downtown just experiencing the sights Long Beach has to offer. DTLB did not disappoint! There is so much life, color, and beauty in this city. I could photograph urban murals all day and never run out of material. I stumbled upon some of the most inspiring art and life around the city. I hope you enjoy this little glimpse into where we call home.
