I tend to keep a rolling wish list of items I’d love to get, items I need to get, and items I want to get. I can also talk myself (and attempt to talk the hubs) into believing that Love, Need, and Want items are one in the same. Of course the hubs sees through my cloud of justification and usually talks me down from a potentially expensive splurge for the sake of splurging. Lately there have been a handful of items on my mind and I’m getting close to justifying the need for them in my life.
As I am new to the love of handbags, I am trying to do as much research as I can on which bags really seem to be worth the hype and the dollars. I like how elegant smaller handbags look, but I’m just not that girl who can cut back on carrying tons of crap in her everyday purse. This Chloe satchel looks like it could handle my mess well without losing shape and style or weigh me down. I can see how this item would be considered an expensive splurge, but thanks to sites like Tradesy, ShopBop, and about a billion other reputable companies that sell pre-loved handbags, there’s a chance I could get this for a fraction of the price.
It seems new trends are taking cues from the 90s. While I’m not too sure I’m in love with the idea of wearing tie-dye baby Tees with tattoo chokers and daisy hair barrettes, I don’t hate the return of wide-leg and flair trousers and denim. I’m particularly fond of this pair from 7 for all Mankind. They can be dressed up or down without looking too dated or too sloppy. I would get them in a longer length than I regularly wear so I can pair them with heels or wedges. I don’t love the high-water affect of too short pants and tall shoes.
I started seeing this Daniel Wellington watch pop up on some Instagram OOTD pics, specifically Lauren Elizabeth. Now they are all over Pinterest. The look of the watch is so simple and classy. It reminds me of the watch my mother used to wear when I was a kid. One that screamed “I’m adult and I know how accessorize like one!” I love the leather band, something I am lacking in my watch collection. The size of the face is a bigger than a normal “women’s” watch, but that’s exactly what I love about it. And you simply can’t go wrong with rose gold details. **UPDATE: Thanks to some info from a lovely Facebook friend, I can tell you Daniel Wellington watches can be nabbed up for less than $100 on Amazon!!**
Speaking of Instagram Inspiration, Kate Bryan posted this pic today and I immediately fell in LOVE with the shade of Lilac, new to the Dior Addict Lip Glow line. I have the pink shade and love it dearly. This Lilac color is another take on the “Your Lips But Better” color range. And like the other Dior Addict Lip Glow colors, this one adds a bit of gloss to your smile without looking like you just made out with a jar of vaseline.
As you’ll see in a post coming next week, I’m a fan of a few simple pieces of jewelry that I wear daily, only switching out my watch to match the metals (silver, gold, rose gold, etc) with the color tone of the outfit. This Henri Bendel bangle is a classic piece that many style and beauty bloggers love. It’s the kind of bangle that goes with absolutely everything. I like that it’s a spring loaded bangle that opens and closes. This piece is like most really fine jewelry, it can be worn daily and is well worth the $118 price tag.
