My face…in all it’s glory

I am a creature of habit. I feel like most people are. I pretty much eat the same thing every morning for breakfast. I change up my workout routine at the same time every month, and then stick to that routine religiously for that month. I have a method of eating skittles and M&Ms. Don’t judge, you know you color-code your candies too.
When it comes to my makeup routine, that’s pretty much standard as well…at least for the products I use. The way I see it, I know what I like and I stick to it. Nothing wrong with that. Lauren Conrad decided a long time ago that she didn’t like the look of eye shadow on her…and then her signature cat-eye liner look was born. If you can’t tell, I’m a fan of the cat eye and it’s variations as well.
For me, my face makeup stays pretty standard. If my is skewing red due to sun exposure or just an overall uneven color, I’ll use Covergirl’s BB Cream in Light to Medium (810) as my moisturizer to even out my skin tone a bit. I don’t use foundation because I’ve never really liked how it feels on my face.
I use the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser concealer in Medium (130) under my eyes and dabbed on any problem spots (pimples).
After that, I set it all with Physician’s Formula Bronzer in Summer Eclipse, during the summer that is. In the winter months I’ll switch to a compressed powder, but living in California means I don’t have to worry too much about the shade of my skin tone changing up too much. Then there’s that whole Half-Indian thing that works in my favor.
Next up…contouring. I went to MAC a few months back to help me find the right shade for contouring. I tend to splurge on eye makeup but I felt this called for something more than a drugstore could provide. I’ve been using MAC’s Mineralize Skin Finish in Sun Power ever since. I dust the shade under my cheekbones, or in my case, under where my cheekbones should be. Then I take it up my temples and right under my jaw on both sides. Then I blend the bejeezus out of it. I’m not going for the Kim K look.
After that I swipe on Tarte’s Cheek Stain in Tipsy. I use a damp beauty blender to blend it in. I like the cheek stain, or a cream blush in the summer as it’s not quite so heavy.
That’s the face. I do that every day, well, every time a full face of makeup is required that is.
My eyes I will change up a bit, depending on what I’m wearing, the time I have to devote to my look, and quite frankly, my mood. That said, I have like a handful of looks that I rotate. All involve the same products.
Here’s what I use:
MAC Paint Pot in Painterly I use this as my shadow primer.
Urban Decay Naked  and Naked 2 eye shadow pallets
On any given day, I’m wearing at least two different mascaras.
Maybeline’s The Colossal and Mega Plush
Covergirl’s Made for Mocha shadow to fill in some patchy spots in my eyebrows. It’s just a brown eye shadow that matches my brows.
As for lips, I usually forget to put something on my lips. If I think about it, I’ll swipe on a Tarte Lip Stain of some sort, or an EOS Lip balm.
That’s my makeup aresnal in a nutshell. I thought this would be a quick post, but with a combination of my desire to be thorough and the fact that I like to talk, it ended up being a bit longer than I planned. Regardless, if you managed to make it through the whole post, kudos to you…and a big ol THANK YOU for reading.
I think I will do some step-by-step tutorials with pics, cause I’m just not an on camera person, for the various looks I like to do.
Until I can muster up enough balls to record myself, here are some Beauty Gurus I follow on YouTube.
